日前，许多申请参加99美元iPhone开发者计划的程序员接到了苹果官方发来的邮件，称他们的申请已经被驳回。原因是目前处在Beta测试阶段的开发计划仅允许有限数量的开发者参加。

信件全文如下：

Dear Registered iPhone Developer,

Thank you for expressing interest in the iPhone Developer Program. We have received your enrollment request. As this time, the iPhone Developer Program is available to a limited number of developers and we plan to expand during the beta period. We will contact you again regarding your enrollment status at the appropriate time.

Thank you for applying.

需要注意的是，驳回你的申请并不代表你不能为iPhone编写软件。这项收费99美元的计划的意义在于，可以拿到Beta版的iPhone 2.0固件，能够在真机上测试自己编写的软件而已。所有有兴趣的开发者仍然可以免费下载SDK，并通过其附带的iPhone模拟器测试自己编写的软件。

当然，我们也可以预计在6月份2.0固件正式版推出后，所有希望加入的程序员都可以付费加入iPhone开发者计划。苹果在信中也明确表示“将在合适时间”再次联络大家。另外，当前也有一部分程序员已经接到了准许参加iPhone开发者计划测试的信件。
